The Three Muses: Unissa / In your dreams

(Lintukoto-tarinoista on mielenkiintoinen artikkeli Luonto-lehden viime numerossa 8/2009).

"In your dreams" is the theme that the Three Muses gave us this week. In this spread from my altered book I dream about the place where the birds go when they leave our cold and dark country in the autumn. In the old days people believed that there is a special place, called "The home of the birds", where the birds go. Because the birds flew to South or Southwest, people thought that this home must be somewhere where it's warm. And because the sky seems to be very near the earth in the horizon, they also thought that only very small people can live there. - I miss the birds and the sunlight and the warm weather so much, that I think I'll be dreaming this dream every night until next spring arrives.

  1. I feel like flying south with them as I sit bundled up in jumpers shivering with both the cold and a cold! Your beautiful piece is warming me up though!

  14. Your dream pages are amazing, Eila..and I loved reading about your dreams and the birds. I am in Canada and many of the birds here go away for the winters (which are really cold and snow filled in our area of Canada) but we always have the little Sparrows who seem to weather the winters well and we make sure they are well fed with many bird feeders and trees for them to take shelter in. Hope all is well with you, Eila...ttys. Hugs, Gayle.

  19. Ihan mielettömän taitavasti käytät värejä. Tykkään muutenkin tosi paljon lintu- ja luontoteemastasi, jota on tuossa uusimmassakin työssäsi. Näissä on jotain tarunomaista ja kiehtovaa.
