Theme Thursday: Flying / Lentäen

Näillä kahdella ATC-kortilla osallistun Theme Thursdayn haasteeseen, jonka aiheena on lentäminen. Kortit tein ompelukoneella huopapohjalle koottuun paperikollaasiin. - Samalla toivotan teille kaikille Hyvää Uutta Vuotta 2010!

These two ATCs are my entry for Theme Thursday's this week's challenge "Flying". I made them with the sewing machine on a paper collage glued on a piece of felt. - I wish you all a Happy New Year 2010!

The Three Muses: Something old, something new

Tässä vastaukseni (altsukirjan aukeaman muodossa) Kolmen Muusan vuodenvaihteen haasteeseen, jonka aiheena on "Jotain vanhaa, jotain uutta". Kun herra ja rouva Lintu muuttivat uuteen kotiinsa, niin se sisustettiin sekä uusilla että vanhoilla tavaroilla. - Linnunpesä on Itkupillin digiarkista, linnut ovat kiiltokuvia, kalusteiden kuvat peräisin moninaisista aikakauslehdistä. - Tämän kuvan myötä toivotan kaikille teille Hyvää Uutta Vuotta!

This is my entry (a spread from my altered book) for the Three Muses' challenge "Something old, something new". When Mr. and Mrs. Bird moved to their new home, they decorated it with both old and new things. - The bird's nest is from a digital sheet of Itkupilli, the birds are glossy die-cuts, the images of the decoration are from various magazines. - With this image I wish you all a Happy New Year!

TMTA: Lucky Signs / Onnen merkit

Think Monday Think ATC -haaste kaipalee tänä maanantaina "Onnen merkkejä" uuden vuoden vaihteen lähestyessä. Omaan korttiini laitoin onnea tuomaan palan apila-aiheista pitsiä (nämä tosin eivät ole neliapiloita, mutta eivätköhän nämäkin onnea tuo) sekä muutaman onnentähden, jotka tein Perfect Mediumilla ja Perfect Pearlsilla (ne olen hankkinut ihanasta hämeenlinnalaisesta Skräpteekki-askarteluliikkeestä). Tausta on naarmuista mustaa kartonkia, taakse jääneen vuoden symbolina. Tällä kortilla toivotan kaikille HYVÄÄ UUTTA VUOTTA!

Think Monday Think ATC challenged us to make cards with lucky signs, to celebrate the coming New Year. I decorated my card with a piece of clover patterned lace (these don't have four leaves but I think they'll work anyway) and some lucky stars which I made with Perfect Medium and Perfect Pearls. The background is a piece of scratched black cardboard, a symbol of the old year. With this card I wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The Three Muses: Home Sweet Home - My 100th posting with some freebies!

Tämä altsukirjani aukeama on vastaukseni Kolmen Muusan jouluviikon haasteeseen "Home Sweet Home". Lumisen talven keskellä pikkulinnut ovat pysähtyneet joulukusen oksalle haaveilemaan uudesta kesästä ja uudesta omasta kodista. - Maalasin kuusen öljtvahaliiduilla, kuusen itämaiset korusteet ovat Elegian digiarkista, linnut ovat kiiltokuvia.

Koska tämä on blogini 100:s postaus, haluan kiittää kaikkia teitä ihania lukijoitani niistä mieltä lämmittävistä kommenteista, joita olette blogiini kirjoitelleet! Pienenä lahjana liitän tähän muutaman kuvan, joista toivon olevan teille iloa. Eläinkuvat ovat isoäidiltä perimistäni vanhoista koulukirjoista, postikortti puolestaan lasteni isoäidin jäämistöstä. Samalla toivotan kaikille Rauhallista Joulua!

This spread from my altered book is my entry for the Three Muses' challenge "Home Sweet Home". In the middle of winter the little birds are sitting on a branch of the Christmas three, dreaming about a new summer and a new home nest. - I painted the tree with wax oil crayons, the oriental decorative balls are from Elegia's digital sheet, the birds are glossy die-cuts.

This being the 100th posting of my blog, I want to thank all you wonderful people, who have read and commented my entries - it has been a great pleasure to discuss with all of you all around the world! As a small gift to you I'm attaching some freebies for you: the animal images are from old school books which I have inherited from my late grandmother, and the postcard (where it reads "Merry Christmas" in Finnish) belonged originally to my late mother-in-law. With these images I wish you all Merry Christmas / Season's Greetings!

The Three Muses: Mail Art

Kolmen Muusan aiheena on tällä viikolla "Postitaide". Kaikkihan tietävät, että kyyhkyset osaavat kantaa kirjeitä, mutta tässä altsukirjani aukeamassa annoin muutamalle muullekin linnulle mahdollisuuden toimia viestinviejänä.

The Three Muses' challenge this week is "Mail art". We all know that pigeons can carry mail, but on this spread from my altered book I wanted to give some other birds a chance to act as messengers, too.

Three Muses: Bottles and jars / Pulloja ja purkkeja

Tässä altsukirjani aukeama, jolla osallistun Kolmen Muusan haasteeseen, joka tällä kertaa on "Pulloja ja purkkeja". Näin pimeänä ja kylmänä vuodenaikana toivon aina, että minulla olisi edes vähän kesää säilöttynä talven varalle, niin että voisin ottaa sen esille, kun on oikein kurjaa.

This spread from my altered book is my contribution for the Three Muses' challenge, which this week is "Bottles and jars". When it's cold and dark, as it is now, I always hope that I had a little bit of summer conserved for the winter, so that I could take it out of the jar when I'm feeling very down.

This chess board is my entry for the Three Muses' challenge of this week. The pigeons are glossy die cuts, and I painted the board with pearlescent acrylic paints.
