TMTA: Kasvot / Face

Think Monday - Think ATC:n teemana on "Katso kasvoja". Omaan korttiini sijoitin iso-isoäitini Hannan muotokuvan. En koskaan tavannut häntä, sillä hän kuoli vuotta ennen syntymääni, mutta olen kuunnellut äitini ja tätini kertomuksia Hanna-mummostaan. Hän oli aika tiukka ihminen, lihamestarin vaimo ja seitsemän lapsen äiti. Kuvaan löysin kehyksen vanhasta äideille tarkoitetusta opaskirjasesta. Kehys oli mustavalkoinen, mutta koska Hanna-mummon elämä oli varmasti aika kovaa, halusin värittää kukat ja lisäsinpä vielä yhden kiiltokuvaruusunkin.

TMTA's this week's theme is "Look into a face". The face on my card belongs to my great-grandmother Hanna. I never met her, because she died a year before I was born, but I've listened to my mother's and my aunt's stories about their Grammy Hanna. She was a tough woman, married to a butcher and mother of seven children. I found the frame for her portrait from an old guidance book for mothers. The frame was black-and-white, but because Grammy Hanna certainly had a hard life, I wanted to colour the flowers and I even added a glossy rose for her.
