Kolmen Muusan teemana on innostavat ihmiset. Tein altsukirjaani sivun isotädistäni Ainosta (1896-1989), jonka elämä on innoittanut minua monella tapaa.
The Three Muses challenged us with the theme "Inspirational People". I made a page in my altered book about my grandaunt Aino (1896-1989), whose life has inspired me in many ways. When she was young, she was an actress in the theatre (in the pink frame is a photo from 1919), then she made a career as a manager of entertainment artists (in the green frame you can see her in her office in the 1940s), and later she was the respected but not feared eldest of the family (in the orange frame she holds my baby daugther in 1979). I often visited her and listened to her interesting stories. She survived two world wars and one cancer, and she was for me an example of an independent woman dedicated to her art and work. - The photos are from grandaunt Aino's album, the apple tree branch is my own artwork, drawn with Caran D'Ache wax oils.
Eila, I love the story of your grand-aunt Aino and her wonderfully interesting life. She was so beautiful and she lived to a great age. The photos you have of her at different stages of her life are lovely. What a special person! I love the branch with its flowers and fruit which I understand may be echoing her life from childhood to old age. This is a very special piece of art. Bravo!!
VastaaPoistaWhat a great story - I think I would have liked to meet Aino - and I love how you have paired the images of stages in your aunt's life with stages in the apple's life. Very clever and beautiful!!

Thank you for sharing your aunt's life story with us all, Eila, so special and so inspirational & such a lovely tribute you have created!
VastaaPoistaWe have a saying here,--"The apple doesn't fall far from the tree". It means we tend to inherit traits from our ancestors. I'm sure you share many traits with those you admired in your aunt. This is a beautiful entry, Eila. It makes me want to get some wax oils!
VastaaPoistaEila thank you for sharing your story and your inspiration of great aunt Aino. She was obviously a very strong, resourceful and artistic woman whom you loved dearly.
